What is Tire Speed Rating?
The tire speed rating is a letter code that informs customers how fast they can drive using the tires.
It's not only about speed, though. It also affects ride comfort, wear, and cornering ability.
You can find it on the tire's side wall, along with other important information like tire size and load index (see below).

Tire speed ratings range from A (the lowest) to Y (the highest), but it's not entirely in alphabetical order, as you can see from the chart below.
The most common tire speed ratings for passenger tires are S, T, U, H, V, Z, W, and Y. Those are the one we included in the chart.
